Please join us for our March meetings.
The March program will focus on learning and practicing several variations of the detached button hole
stitch. This stitch is useful for filling shapes and is commonly used in crewel or surface stitching. It is
particularly useful when the stitcher wants to add dimension to a motif as the stuffing can be added
before the last row of the detached buttonhole is secured to the fabric. You will need to bring a doodle
cloth and a variety of needle sizes in both tapestry and sharp needles as we may want to practice this
stitch with different thread sizes.
For those who are signing up for the Birds and Flowers Pin Keep project that will begin in April, please
remember you will need to furnish your own threads. The pattern calls for Weeks Dye Works floss, but I
am also listing the DMC conversion threads. The pattern is found in the March 2016 issue of NeedleArts
magazine. Other materials, including the fabric will be furnished by the guild. The flosses are listed
